Junior digital marketing roles in Ghana pay roughly GH₵2,000 to GH₵3,500 a month, mid-level GH₵4,000 to GH₵7,000, and senior specialists above GH₵9,000. Accra dominates hiring, agency roles sit slightly below in-house, and remote work for foreign employers pays several times local rates.
TL;DR
- Accra is the market; Kumasi and Takoradi are small.
- MoMo-funnel measurement is a scarce, well-paid skill.
- Remote employment is the ceiling-breaker here as everywhere.
The shape of the market
Ghana's digital marketing employment is concentrated in Accra: fintech, telecoms, agencies, media and a growing set of development-sector communications roles. Employers benchmark against a narrower range than Lagos and the top of the market is lower, but the cost of living gap narrows the real difference.
The most visible premium is for people who can measure mobile-money funnels. MTN MoMo is how most Ghanaian customers pay, and a marketer who can attribute a MoMo transaction back to a campaign is rare.
The bands
Junior social and content executives at the bottom of the range. Search and paid specialists in the middle, with a clear premium for provable results. Analytics and growth roles at the top, particularly inside fintech and telecoms.
Agency roles typically sit ten to twenty percent below in-house at the same level, and teach faster.
Remote and regional roles
Ghanaian marketers are well represented in remote roles for UK and US employers, partly because of the time-zone overlap with Europe and partly because English-language communication standards are high. Those roles pay several multiples of local equivalents.
The screening for them is the same everywhere: written communication, async reliability and verifiable evidence of work.
